My depiction of an important scene is Lois Lowry's The Giver, which we've been reading in my English class for the last few weeks.

This is when Jonas first begins to see colors during a game of apple-catch with his friend.

Confused? Read the book. It's monumentally depressing, but still a really, really good tale of adolesence in a utopian society.

Now then, as far as the art goes, I'm very proud of his hands here. Those're definitely the best hands I've drawn thus far. :3

D8 The Giveeeeeeeeeer!! asdfjkl; That book made me sad.

:3 But in other news, the red really sticks out, like it's supposed to. And his hands are really nice~

Hm... I've heard of the book, what's it about?

I'm guessing that the kid was color blind?
I read that book too, just I forgot all the little parts. I remember the main story though.

I'm in your mind! And its quite sticky....eewwwww
Basically, a little boy named Jonas lives in this place called The Community, a utopian society devoid of pain, fear, war, and theft, but at the same time devoid of choices, emotions, and colors. The story really heats up when he learns of some of the disturbing unseen truths behind his lifestyle.

That's pretty annoyingly vague, I guess, but I wouldn't want to give too much away, since I reccomend reading it for yourself. It's pretty short, but jeesy chreesy, it gets really dark. It's a compelling sort of dark, though. ^__^

Oh yeah, and to answer your question, yeah, he is color blind. His whole community is, actually. :P

Hey! This is a nice job. You are communicating the action of catching the apple, with the movement in his body and his hands are rendered nicely. :-)
